Differentiation
Learners needing support:
- Could observe some one-to-one modelling of how to attach things to their box loom.
- Could weave with soft fabric. Suggest that learners weave with the fabric strips and tie their other things, like plaits, on with knots.
- Could observe the technique of folding a thread in half to form a loop, then passing both ends through the loop and pulling tight (see slide 7).
Learners working at a stretch:
- Could layer up the woven elements and try weaving in both directions to overlap pieces.
- Should think about combining their pieces in interesting ways rather than randomly attaching things to their box loom. They may find some interesting methods of joining things to the box loom.
