Differentiation
Learners needing support:
- Could be encouraged to focus on just one part, such as a petal.
- Could find it helpful to look at a petal detached from the plant to draw the shape on its own.
- Could stick the part of the flower next to their work to draw the shape a few times and practise sketching with light pressure.
- Should use the magnifying glass to study the details of the petal and add these.
Learners working at a stretch:
- Could work in monotones, using shading to add different tones of black.
- Could be encouraged to add tones of colour to their drawing.
- Could use watercolour paints to add a wash of colour, creating lighter tones by adding water to dilute the colour.
