Lesson 5: Mixed-media portraits

Learners needing support:

• Could make a plan with an adult before starting, to explain what they hope to achieve.
• Could use a recording device to record and offer feedback to a partner in the Attention grabber.

Learners working at a stretch:

• Should explain how their chosen materials help their self-portrait communicate something about themselves.
• Should try something new they have learned during the unit, including their choices of material shapes, sizes and positions when making collages.
