Lesson 2: Painting with colour

Learners needing support:

• Could draw the large numbers using a template or stencil to draw around or a broken line as a guide.
• Could use visual aids to remember the colour theory, for example, the painted sums from Lesson 1.
• Could watch the Learner video: Painting with colour while completing the activity.

Learners working at a stretch:

• Could describe the connection between their painting and Jasper Johns’s painting.
• Should confidently mix and use their colours to paint.
• Should apply paint thickly to create texture.
• Could try their own ideas to change the painting to their own style.
