In pairs, ask learners to share their mood boards from Lesson 1: Inspired by the rainforest with their partners. Encourage learners to describe their mood board and explain their choice of colours, patterns, shapes, materials and textures.

Differentiation

Learners needing support:

  • Should choose areas to draw that have larger and simpler shapes.
  • Could use tape to hold the viewfinder in place.
  • Could talk about the colours, patterns and textures that can be seen in the viewfinder before colouring in.

 

Learners working at a stretch:

  • Should make sure that each view they choose to draw is very different.
  • Could focus on texture and details by drawing on top with pencils or other drawing materials to add marks.
