Unit introduction
This Art and design video supports teachers in delivering a Stage 6 unit on street art, exploring it as a form of public art made with or without permission. It introduces teachers to a range of street art examples, which will all help learners to form and share opinions about what art is and what it can be. The video explains how to guide discussions around key terms such as ‘graffiti’ and ‘guerrilla art’, which will help learners to consider the relationship between art, audience, location and meaning.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. It helps teachers feel confident leading thoughtful discussions, supporting learners to express themselves and develop ideas for street art inspired by global issues.
