Exploring shades of green
This Art and design video teaches learners how to mix and apply different shades of green using primary colours. Learners experiment with combining various blues and yellows to create at least five unique shades, recording the colour combinations they use. They then apply their shades to a handprint artwork, using different tones and patterns to decorate each section.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). It helps learners develop confidence in colour mixing, observation and brush control. As part of the Making connections: Landscapes using different media unit, this lesson deepens children’s understanding of shade, variation and the expressive possibilities of paint.
