Roller coaster ride
This Art and design video encourages learners to practise painting smooth, flowing lines inspired by the shapes and movements of a rollercoaster. Learners develop the skills of mixing paint to the right consistency, loading a brush correctly and painting in long, continuous strokes. They begin with an expressive painting warm-up, then sketch and paint their own rollercoaster tracks, finishing with added detail in pen or pencil.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design curriculum framework (0067). As part of the Stage 2 Art and design skills unit, this lesson allows learners to build control and confidence in using a paintbrush by practising grip, pressure and flowing brushstrokes.
