Drawing imaginative and expressive plant forms

This Art and design video explains how to encourage children to use their imaginations to invent and draw their own imaginary plants. Inspired by poetry and guided observation, learners explore how line, shape and tone can express creative ideas. They learn to visualise textures and unusual forms while developing confidence in using drawing to express thoughts and feelings.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). As part of the Drawing: Developing drawing skills unit, this lesson inspires learners to create detailed, imaginative drawings.
