Creating prehistoric handprint cave art

This Art and Design video teaches learners how to create a collaborative prehistoric-style artwork using handprints. They begin by making a textured background with earthy colours, then work in pairs to create positive and negative handprints using paint, exploring simple techniques inspired by prehistoric art.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Stage 3 Painting and mixed media: Prehistoric painting unit, this lesson helps learners develop control of painting techniques and use colour expressively.
