Art in 3D
This Art and design video supports teachers in introducing learners to sculpture by guiding them through the process of transforming 2D shapes into 3D structures. Learners manipulate card by folding, rolling, and slotting shapes together to build freestanding forms without glue or tape. The activity encourages experimentation, spatial awareness, and creative problem-solving, laying the foundation for future sculptural work.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Abstract shape and space unit, this lesson helps learners explore construction techniques and develop confidence working in three dimensions.
