Sharing ideas in folded books
This Art and design video guides learners through the process of making a zine, a mini book made from a single folded and cut sheet of paper. They first follow step-by-step folding instructions to create their booklets, then design them to share something they have learned about Ancient Egyptian art. Learners are encouraged to be inventive with both the content and materials they use, such as incorporating painted or handmade paper and adding their own drawings, patterns and text.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Stage 3 Craft and design: Ancient Egyptian scrolls unit, this lesson helps learners express their ideas through creative presentation and visual storytelling.
