Abstract art using flower shapes

This Art and design video guides learners through the process of creating expressive abstract flower drawings, inspired by artist Georgia O’Keeffe. Learners begin by exploring compositions through thumbnail sketches, using a viewfinder to zoom in on small areas of flower photographs. They then enlarge their favourite design onto a bigger page, experimenting with bold lines, scale and different drawing tools to produce abstract art.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Stage 3 Art and design skills unit, this lesson encourages learners to be creative and expressive, developing their confidence in mark making and understanding of abstract composition.
