Designing imaginative animals from paper

This Art and design video introduces learners to a sculpture activity using simple paper and card techniques. Learners practise folding, rolling and assembling shapes to create imaginative animal sculptures, such as snakes and birds, while developing fine motor skills and understanding form. The activity encourages creative thinking and experimentation with basic materials.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design curriculum framework (0067). In the Stage 1 Art and design skills unit, this lesson builds learners’ confidence in constructing three-dimensional forms, using paper and card to explore shape, structure and imaginative design.
