Thinking like a computer

This Computing video supports teachers in introducing the key concept of computational thinking and how it helps us solve problems logically and efficiently. Teachers are guided through the four key elements: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction and algorithm design, with practical, real-world examples to support classroom discussion and learning.

This video is part of Kapow’s Computing resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Computing curriculum framework (0059). It forms part of the Stage 2 unit Block coding, where learners build on their understanding of problem-solving through coding and digital tools. Computational thinking is introduced through unplugged activities and programming tasks that help learners make meaningful connections between problem solving and coding.
