Making objects look three-dimensional
This Art and design video encourages learners to apply painting techniques to create the illusion of three-dimensional form. After exploring methods such as dabbing, stippling and washes, learners choose which techniques to use when painting a simple object. They mix tints and shades to represent light and shadow, helping their object appear more realistic.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Stage 4 Painting and mixed media: Light and dark unit, this lesson helps learners practise applying tone and texture with control and creativity.
