Differentiation

Learners needing support:

  • Could use pencil grips to correctly hold the drawing materials.
  • Should plan the shapes they will draw on the Activity: Drawing shapes.
  • Could watch someone model how to colour in the shapes and mix colours with the drawing materials.
  • Could have sentence frames to help them describe the shapes they drew. For example, My shape looks like… There are … lines. I used … (drawing materials).


Learners working at a stretch:

  • Could cut out the shapes they drew on the Activity: Drawing shapes and use them as a template to draw around on paper of different colours to create an abstract piece.
