Unit 6: Making connections: Exploring geometric patterns
Unit outcomes
Learners who are secure will be able to:
- Draw and describe geometric patterns accurately.
- Draw the Seed of Life pattern using a compass to create overlapping circles.
- Colour their artwork while keeping it symmetrical.
- Create a tessellating abstract shape and use it to form a tessellation.
- Create a symmetrical flip pattern using reflections along two lines of symmetry.
- Design and create a printing tile for use in repeated patterns.
Suggested prior learning
This unit offers learners the opportunity to consolidate and apply their learning from the previous Stage 4 Art and design units.Lessons
