Learners needing support:

  • Could use the Activity: Seed of Life (support) with a pre-drawn centre circle to trace over and starting points for each overlapping circle to show where to put the sharp point of the compass.
  • Could be reminded to check if both sides of their patterns look the same and are symmetrical when colouring.

Learners working at a stretch:

  • Should experiment with overlapping circles to create new patterns.
  • Could try making patterns using different-sized circles.
