Learners needing support:
- Could be guided to cut out their design, place the design on the soap, then outline the design onto the soap by carving lightly in pencil.
- Could have help to select the appropriate tools.
- Could use spare bars of soap as practice pieces; guide learners to try out the tools and decide if they make the desired mark or cut.
Learners working at a stretch:
- Should make a finished sculpture by smoothing the surface or by adding details or texture with various tools.
- Should adapt their ideas as they work if they encounter problems with their design.
