Differentiation
Learners needing support:
- Could be guided to make the connection with the words ‘light’, ‘white’ and ‘tint’ – they all have the ‘i’ vowel; then with the words ‘dark’, ‘black’ and ‘shade’ – they have the ‘a’ vowel.
- Should remember t the painting basics: keep the water pot clean, add black and white paint a little bit at a time, hold the paintbrush near the brush for greater control.
Learners working at a stretch:
- Could investigate the range of colours they can make, even with very similar starting colours.
- Could mix two quite similar original colours, for example, two different greens, and then mix tints and shades of both to observe the differences in colour.
