  • Could practice cutting on scrap pieces of lino or polystyrene before they work on their actual plate.
  • Could focus on using thicker, bolder lines and shapes, which are easier to cut and print, while still achieving good visual results.

Learners working at a stretch:

  • Could experiment with mixing paint or ink to create new colours before printing.
  • Could experiment with layering prints using different colours
  • Should make more intricate and detailed designs using varied line thickness and complex textures to add depth and interest to their prints.
  • Could create two separate plates with different colours to create a two-coloured print.
