Differentiation
Learners needing support
- Could be guided with the masking tape to mark out their chosen word, helping them apply and remove it correctly.
- Could use a pencil grip or writing slope to help with shading, making it easier to control the charcoal when creating tones.
Learners working at a stretch
- Could experiment with different techniques for creating darker and lighter areas, such as varying pressure on the charcoal or using different marks (cross-hatching, blending).
- Should refine their contrasts, going back and adding more dark or light areas where needed to create a more realistic 3D effect.
- Could experiment with the direction of light to create more dramatic shadows or highlights, adding depth to their work.
