Differentiation

Learners needing support:

  • Should be given individual login cards and step-by-step modelling to help them log in with support.
  • Could be given extra time to practise using the mouse, including moving the cursor and clicking to select tools or images.
  • Should begin by using just one or two tools in Sketchpad, such as the paintbrush and fill tool, before exploring others.

Learners working at a stretch:

  • Could combine drawing and clipart to design a scene with a clear idea or theme (e.g. park, party, underwater world).
  • Should create digital artwork using at least two different tools (e.g. brush and fill) and click to select colours, icons or clipart.
  • Could explain how they used the mouse to complete different actions and describe the tools they used to a partner or adult.
