Differentiation

Learners needing support:

  • Could use visual examples of wired and wireless connections.
  • Should be encouraged to use sentence stems such as “This connects to the internet because…” or “This uses wi-fi.”

Learners working at a stretch:

  • Should be encouraged to describe how devices connect (wired or wireless) and why one might be better than the other.
  • Could give their own examples of devices that use the internet or say what might happen if a device was not connected.
  • Could sort examples into local networks (school, home) and global networks (the internet).
