Making planets look three-dimensional
This Art and design video guides learners in creating a three-dimensional drawing of a planet using shape, colour and tone. Using chalks and soft pastels to match colours and explore blending techniques, learners develop their understanding of how tone adds depth and form. They practise circular cutting and experiment with composition by placing their planets against a dark background for contrast.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). It enables learners to build confidence with materials and express form through colour blending and tonal shading.
