3D structures
This Art and design video guides learners through transforming flat 2D shapes into 3D structures using simple folding, rolling and slotting techniques. Learners draw and cut out large card shapes, then explore ways to make them freestanding without glue or tape—experimenting with balance, position and connections to build imaginative sculptural forms.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Abstract shape and space unit, this lesson helps children explore three-dimensional form and construction through hands-on experimentation.
