This Art and design video guides learners through the process of creating four magnified drawings of an animal or insect using a viewfinder. Learners observe closely and focus on replicating texture, colour, and detail within each 14cm square, using drawing tools to show delicate and bold features. These abstracted sections will be used to inspire textile designs in the following lesson.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Fabric of nature unit, this lesson helps learners build observational drawing skills and begin to translate natural forms into creative designs.
