Ancient Egyptian art
This Art and design video introduces learners to Ancient Egyptian art and encourages them to explore its patterns, colours and shapes through creative sketchbook work. Learners prepare their pages using techniques such as tea staining, colour washing or layering textured papers. They then select and recreate elements of Ancient Egyptian imagery using varied drawing materials, focusing on observation, experimentation and personal choice.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Ancient Egyptian scrolls unit, this lesson helps learners build cultural understanding while developing drawing skills and creative confidence.
