Expressing meaning through word design
This Art and design video guides learners in creating their own graffiti-style word art. Inspired by the bold and expressive nature of graffiti, learners choose a word that represents someone inspiring. They then experiment with letter shapes, colours, patterns and details to bring meaning to their design. Learners are encouraged to reflect their chosen word through style and symbolism, creating vibrant and impactful artwork.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Stage 6 Art and design skills unit, this lesson builds confidence in expressive lettering and the thoughtful use of visual elements.
