Observing and drawing facial features

This Art and design video guides learners through a drawing activity focused on observational skills and facial symmetry. Using a photographic half-portrait, learners are encouraged to complete the other side of the face, carefully studying proportions, features and placement. The activity builds learners’ confidence in drawing realistic portraits through close looking and refinement.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design curriculum framework (0067). In the Stage 1 Art and design skills unit, this lesson supports accuracy, attention to detail and self-expression through guided portrait drawing.
