Learner video: House tiles

This Art and design video guides learners through the final step of making their clay house tiles. Using their drawings as a reference, children roll, shape, join and decorate clay to bring their house designs to life. They are encouraged to apply the score and slip method, use a variety of tools for texture, and reflect on how their ideas evolve during the making process.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. It helps learners confidently apply sculptural techniques while developing flexibility, creativity and attention to detail. As part of the Sculpture and 3D: Clay houses unit, this lesson allows children to turn their designs into a finished clay tile through hands-on exploration and reflection.
