Collaborative sculpture building with cardboard

This Art and design video introduces learners to different techniques for joining cardboard shapes to build abstract three-dimensional structures. They explore folding, twisting, tying, slotting and wrapping with gluey paper to discover which methods work best for making large shapes stand securely. Learners are encouraged to try out ideas, test their strength and work together to problem-solve.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Stage 3 Sculpture and 3D: Abstract shape and space unit, this lesson helps learners develop collaboration and construction skills through hands-on exploration.
