Making relief sculptures

This Art and design video supports learners as they transform their personal memories into symbolic relief sculptures. Learners begin by selecting shapes and colours to represent emotions and events, creating a design. Then they develop their abstract compositions into layered 3D artworks. Through cutting, folding, and assembling cardboard, they explore depth and texture to bring their ideas to life.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design curriculum framework (0067). In the Sculpture and 3D: Making memories unit, this lesson encourages learners to express identity through sculpture and make creative choices with confidence.
