Rainforest inspiration
This Art and design video guides learners in exploring the vibrant colours, patterns, and textures of the rainforest to inspire their own design ideas. Learners create observational drawings based on chosen images or objects, then assemble a mood board using their artwork alongside magazine cuttings and photographs. They identify colour themes and select main and highlight colours, helping to build a foundation for their textile design work.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Fabric of nature unit, this lesson encourages learners to observe closely, make creative choices, and think like designers.
