Soap sculptures

This Art and design video guides learners through the process of designing and carving their own soap sculptures. Learners begin by sketching a simple shape, such as a fish or abstract form, before using carving tools to carefully remove small pieces of soap and reveal the overall shape. They explore adding details and texture, learning to work patiently and safely as they transform their drawings into three-dimensional artworks.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Mega materials unit, this lesson helps learners develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness and creativity through sculptural techniques.
