Working with wire
This Art and design video guides learners through the process of shaping and joining wire to create a sculpture. Learners practise bending, looping, and twisting wire, then follow a template to form the outline of their design. They use masking tape to hold wire in place while building their sculpture, carefully measuring and cutting smaller pieces to add detail, and adjusting their work as needed to improve accuracy and stability.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design framework. As part of the Mega materials unit, this lesson helps learners develop precision, problem-solving and fine motor skills while working safely with new materials.
