Planning a meaningful installation artwork
This Art and design video supports teachers in guiding learners to develop an installation artwork that communicates a message or concept. Building on their understanding of installation art and inspired by Tsai Guo-Chang’s Heritage, learners explore themes that matter to them, locally or globally and plan their own installations using visual journals, models or collaborative construction.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). As part of the Sculpture and 3D: Interactive installation unit, this lesson encourages thoughtful planning and creative problem-solving, placing emphasis on the expressive potential of 3D work.
