Using a digital Bee-Bot

This video introduces the digital Bee-Bot emulator, a website-based version of the Bee-Bot (available to purchase from TTS) for teaching early programming concepts. It explains how the emulator’s nine-button controller works, covering the function of each command and how they can be sequenced to create an algorithm. The video also highlights key differences from the physical Bee-Bot, including the need to consider orientation when giving instructions.

This video is part of Kapow’s Computing resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Computing curriculum framework (0059). As part of the Programming: Bee-Bots unit, these lessons build learners’ understanding of sequencing, commands and algorithms through engaging, interactive activities using the digital Bee-Bot.
