Brain science: How our brains grow and change

This video introduces children to the idea that the brain can change and grow through learning. It explains neuroplasticity by showing how neurons in the brain form connections and how these pathways become stronger with practice. The video links this science to a growth mindset, helping pupils understand that skills are not fixed and can improve over time.

Through a simple drawing activity, children see how repeating a task helps them make progress. The video encourages pupils to value effort, practise regularly and see mistakes as a normal part of learning. It supports discussions about perseverance, confidence and recognising improvement, even when changes are small.
