Folding paper to make zines

This Art and design video supports teachers in guiding learners through the process of creating a handmade zine, which is a small book made from folding and cutting a single sheet of paper. Building on their knowledge of Ancient Egyptian art, learners express their personal responses through images, patterns and writing. The video models the folding steps and encourages the creative use of leftover materials, including handmade paper from earlier lessons.

This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). As part of the Craft and design: Ancient Egyptian scrolls unit, this lesson helps learners reflect on their learning and present information visually through an engaging, creative format.
