Exploring identity through 3D art
This Art and design video supports teachers in guiding learners through the initial stages of a sculptural project rooted in self-expression. The lesson introduces the concept of ‘self’ through artistic reflection, encouraging learners to explore personal memories and experiences as inspiration for three-dimensional work. Teachers are supported in fostering learner autonomy, helping learners make confident, creative decisions while exploring form, symbolism and material manipulation.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Sculpture and 3D: Making memories unit, this lesson supports learners in expressing identity through sculpture and in connecting personal narrative with artistic outcomes.
