Connecting Computing concepts through integrated projects

This video introduces teachers to the purpose and value of Kapow’s integrated projects, taught at the end of each stage of the Computer Science curriculum. By the time learners reach these units, they have developed key computing knowledge and skills, and the integrated projects give them the opportunity to apply this learning in new and engaging contexts.

The video explains how these projects encourage learners to become confident problem solvers who are willing to try new approaches, learn from mistakes and persevere when challenges arise. Creativity and innovative thinking are central, helping learners prepare for a future where technology will continue to evolve. As learners progress from Stage 1 to Stage 6, the problems they encounter become increasingly complex and set in less familiar contexts. At every stage, the integrated projects give learners the chance to explore ideas, apply their learning and develop skills that will support them in computing and beyond.

This video is part of Kapow’s Computer Science resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Computing Curriculum Framework (0059).
