Exploring memories through 3D design
This Art and design video supports teachers in guiding learners as they plan their final 3D sculptures inspired by the artist Joseph Cornell. The lesson encourages learners to reflect on personal memories and explore how to represent them through symbolic objects and thoughtful assemblage. Teachers are supported in facilitating learner independence, prompting creative exploration and material decision-making.
This video is part of Kapow’s Art and design resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Art & Design Curriculum Framework (0067). In the Sculpture and 3D: Making memories unit, this lesson prepares learners to begin building their memory boxes through reflective planning and experimentation.
