Sketchpad basics for digital art
This Stage 1 Computing video introduces learners to the creative tools available in Sketchpad for making digital artwork.
The video demonstrates how users can choose from different brush styles, change thickness and colours and explore gradients. It also shows how to use Sketchpad’s clip art library, including searching for images, resizing, rotating, stamping, and duplicating them. For more confident learners, the Snap tools are introduced to support creating symmetrical designs and careful spacing.
This video is part of Kapow’s Computing resources, which support the Cambridge Primary Computing Curriculum Framework (0059). In the Getting started: Digital skills for Computing unit, this lesson encourages learners to experiment with digital tools to create and adapt their own artwork.
